Entrepreneurship at RMIT
Entrepreneurship is part of our DNA and is demonstrated through an unrivalled network of entrepreneurial experiences that extend across RMIT’s global community of alumni and industry partners. Our Entrepreneurship and Innovation reserch priority area brings together scholars, practitioners and policy makers dedicated to better understanding the relationship between entrepreneurial work and wellbeing. At the moment our group consists of 10 faculty members and around 15 PhD students. We investigate questions within two broad domains. The first relates to the inputs of entrepreneurial work - the range of individual traits, motivations and contextual factors that shape decisions to engage in entrepreneurship. The second relates to the outputs of entrepreneurial work - the range of psychological, social and economic effects on those directly and indirectly involved in entrepreneurial activity. We work closely with entrepreneurs themselves to better understand and support their experiences. The priority area currently has four broad areas of focus:
- Entrepreneurship and Neurological Diversity
- Entrepreneurial Wellbeing and Performance
- Entrepreneurship among Women, Immigrants and Refugees
- Innovation and the Emergence of New Industries
About our expectations
As a member of our faculty you are expected to engage in teaching, research and industry engagement activities. To be suitable you will have a passion for entrepreneurship which can be evidenced by prior academic achievement and experience in terms of qualifications, relevant experience, research outputs and external projects. You will also be confident in developing inspiring course materials and learning activities within a blended learning environment and providing excellent student care.
