The College is seeking a Learning Support Officer on an ongoing basis commencing immediately. The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Learning & Teaching - lead small group instruction, adapt lessons under teacher guidance:
- Work with students on a one to one basis or in a small class group.
- Work with students who have additional needs/identified learning difficulties.
- Data Collection - formal and anecdotal evidence on student performance:
- Assist with the administrative duties associated with classroom activities.
- Collect data for analysis by teachers and student support
- Assist with the collection, preparation and distribution of support materials.
- Communication – feedback to teachers and students:
- Assist with the communication between students and teachers.
- Liaise with classroom teachers regarding performance, work habits and behaviour of supported students.
- Skills/Professional Learning – implementation of evidence-based learning intervention.
- Provide physical, emotional/social and academic support for students.
- Act as an advocate for supported students as required.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following competencies:
- Qualifications e.g. Certificate 3 in Education Support/Integration Aide (or equivalent) is required.
- Demonstrated understanding of the pastoral care needs of boys in a Catholic secondary school for boys.
- Experience within a Catholic educational environment.
- Demonstrated administration and organisational skills.
- Current Working with Children Check and a National Police History Check.
