The Company

Shafston International College has grown to be one of the largest colleges of its type in Queensland offering a range of vocational educational and English language courses to domestic and international students in Kangaroo Point.

 

The Role

We are looking for a trainer with an “Entrepreneurial Focus”, someone who embraces technology in everyday society, as well as business, would be looked upon favourably. The candidate will have the opportunity to deliver a variety of Business related qualifications.

The candidate must be a passionate and experienced professional Trainer/Assessor with demonstrated industry experience in leading/managing a team. This position will include the training and assessment of students as they undertake our nationally accredited and recognised course in the Diploma of Leadership and Management through face to face delivery.

This dynamic role requires an innovative individual who can work autonomously and as part of a team and who driven to see students progressing to achieve their qualifications.

 

Qualifications and experience

You will need to demonstrate your experience in validation, moderation and continuous improvement; have a minimum of three years as a trainer/assessor; and provide evidence of your continuing professional development and relevant industry experience together with your VET training and assessment experience; underpinned by training and assessment and VET qualifications for Diploma of Leadership and Management.

 

Success factors

·         Knowledge of the AQF, ASQA, ESOS Act and SNR.

·         Experience in delivery and assessment face to face and/or distance education; including maintenance of student records to ensure high levels of compliance and record keeping.

·         Established relationships with industry relevant to training in leadership and management.

·         Ability to contribute to course development or contextualisation.

·         Excellent interpersonal communication to support training program delivery, relationships with industry and effective communication with people within a variety of cultural and communication contexts.

·         Demonstrated ability to work in an organisation with a diverse client base and manage the delivery of outcomes to the satisfaction of clients from different countries and cultures.

·         Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office program and other systems relevant to the role.

·         Excellent time management and ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timeliness.

·         Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility; work effectively as part of a team and autonomously; willingness to accept responsibility and to take direction and feedback.

·         A preparedness to learn and adopt new technology, work practices, systems and procedures; underpinned by sound technical competence.
