Catholic Regional College Sydenham one of the largest Catholic senior secondary Colleges in the State, is seeking an enthusiastic visual designer to join the College office team. The position requires a highly motivated and approachable individual who is confident in being a polite, organised and efficient first point of contact for all visitors to the College. An appropriate candidate will be able to effectively manage visual design and administrative duties whilst maintaining a presence at the front reception to a busy College administration office.
The successful candidate must be available between the hours of 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday, with additional requirements as calendared and requested by the Principal.
Salary will be based on the VCEMEA 2013 under the classification of Category C School Support Officer working 45 weeks annually with 7 weeks annual leave. The level and subdivision of the successful candidate will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications and previous industry experience.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Relevant qualifications and training appropriate to contemporary visual design.
- Current Level II First Aid & CPR.
Essential Experience:
- Relevant experience in the contemporary use of the Microsoft office package or equivalent.
- Proven skills and/or training in the effective use of the Adobe Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
- Competence in the professional use of I.T including networked business phone system, email and web based applications.
- Prior experience with reception within professional organisations.
- Experience with advanced use and maintenance of critical office equipment including photocopiers, fax and printers.
- Competence in the use and maintenance of a networked business phone system.
- Experience with file management.
- Competence with high volume mail merging and document production.
- Competence with internal and external mail management.
Essential Personal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interface with the various stakeholders, which include workplace colleagues, teaching staff, secondary education students, parents and community members.
- Organisational skills to manage your own work diary – ensuring reliability and punctuality.
- Effective conflict management skills in response to staff, student and public demands.
- Ability to work in small teams to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
