Apprenticeships Matter is a well-established Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) that promotes and provides traineeship and apprenticeship services to employers, employees and job seekers.

We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team on full time basis.

As a senior staff member of Apprenticeships Matter, the Business Development Manager will develop and conduct a pro-active marketing program, in conjunction with all other Business Development team members, designed to increase the number of total signups for Apprenticeships Matter Victoria wide and nationally and to increase market share and organisational profitability. This will include:

  • Developing growth strategies and plans that can be used as a template for the organisation
  • Supporting the team consisting of Business Development Consultants, Regional Consultants, National Accounts/BD Support, Lead Generation Officer and National Business Development Executive
  • Working closely with the Business Development Consultant Manager (BDCM) to assist the team meet organisational signup targets.
  • Supporting major employers to increase sign ups of Australian Apprenticeships
  • Working closely with all TAFEs and private training organisations to grow business in new industries and regions
  • Working closely with peak employer groups to encourage utilisation of Apprenticeships Matter’s services and therefore increasing Australian Apprenticeship for their members
  • Developing new ideas and funding opportunities, including assisting in tender applications where required
  • Managing relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Victorian Major Contractors in relation to adhering and meeting Major Projects Skills Guarantee targets
  • Creating partnerships and linkages with Job Active, DES, TTW and other providers who place job seekers into employment


Successful candidates will need to have:

  • A proven demonstrable record in increasing BD outcomes.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills.
  • High level skills in developing new leads and converting to Australian apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability in networking, marketing, business development and promotional activities to secure new and repeat business.
  • Excellent report writing skills with further ability to assist in the response to various submissions and tenders.
  • Must have the ability to promote and ‘on-sell’ Apprenticeships Matter programs including Gateway and In Training Support.
  • Strong understanding of the needs of industry and the ability to address needs through Australian Apprenticeship opportunities.

This position will be based at our Greensborough office and will have a company vehicle, full salary packaging benefits, company mobile phone and associated IT.
