The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) is an independent statutory authority whose mission is to improve the learning of all young Australians.

ACARA currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Test Development (Writing and Language Conventions) in the Assessment and Reporting business unit. This position will drive the development and construction of Writing and Conventions of language tests for the NAPLAN online (and paper test) project implementation.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, National Assessment Program (NAP), this position will lead: the development of the Conventions of Language tests, the development of the Writing assessment tasks and the development of quality assurance materials for the marking of the Writing tests; and will be responsible for the management of contractors involved. In addition, this position will be working collaboratively with the Senior Manager NAP and engaging stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.

The successful applicant will have significant knowledge and experience in assessment of literacy, specifically in test development for writing and conventions of language, and a working knowledge of the Australian curriculum. Strong team leadership and resource management will be complemented by experience in large scale project management and documentation that will result in strong delivery of project outcomes and achieved within tight deadlines. Your excellent stakeholder relationship management and communication skills will enable you to engage widely to consult and achieve outcomes through others.

Commencing salary is: $135,770 per annum plus 10.5% Superannuation.
