ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Hester Hornbrook Academy is an Independent School that provides education for early school leavers.  We offer all levels of VCAL and various VET at Certificate Levels 1, 2 and 3.  We have multiple classes that are small (up to 20 students) and dispersed throughout Melbourne.  Each class has a teacher and a youth worker who work in partnership to relate with and deliver education to students.  Our students are mostly 15 to 21 with some classes taking up to 25 year olds.  Our students are referred to the program from the Community Services sector and sometimes from mainstream schools.  They often present with multiple and complex issues including challenging behaviours.  Students come with a wide range of academic abilities and are often very creative and engage with various art mediums regularly.
