About the opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a number of casual Additional Assistants to join our Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program.
We are seeking staff to work in the following local government areas:
- Boroondara
- Knox
- Manningham
- Maroondah
- Monash
- Whitehorse
- Yarra Ranges
The Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS) program
- provides funding packages
- builds the capacity of State funded kindergarten programs
- supports the access and participation of children with disabilities and developmental delays, and on-going high-support needs and/or complex medical needs
The provision of an Additional Assistant to the kindergarten increases the staff in the group and facilitates the ability of all staff at the kindergarten to work with all children. Where a child with severe disabilities requires intensive one to one support this role is undertaken by all staff in rotation not just the Additional Assistant.
About you
To be successful you will have qualifications and experience in early childhood, including experience in supporting children with additional needs.
Please address the following questions related to the Person Specification in your application:
- Do you have experience with a child with high-support needs in an early childhood setting and/or a Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent qualification? Please summarise your experience and/or your certified training
- Provide details of your availability to work
- Provide examples of your ability to physically engage in kindergarten activities
- Provide examples of how you have worked under the direction of the kindergarten teacher and as part of a team
