Teacher - General (Two Positions) - Cairns School of Distance Education Welcome to theRegional State Schools Division A unique opportunity exists for two dynamic, flexible and skilled teachers to join our Regional State Schools division as part of the Queensland Department of Education's Far North Queensland Regional Youth Engagement Team. The program is focussed on supporting the care teams through complex case management of a young person who has been referred to the Regional Youth Engagement Team, and who holds a current enrolment at a base primary or secondary school. The students will therefore, have a spectrum of needs from social/emotional, learning/academic, attendance and disability specific needs such as hearing impairment and ASD , that require support and/or intervention. Applicants will have sound knowledge of ‘Positive Behaviours for Learning' and ‘Essential Skills for Classroom Management', and be able to demonstrate highly developed, culturally appropriate relational skills with young people, families, other government organisations and the broader community, to achieve positive outcomes. The ability to demonstrate effective skills in classroom management, coaching and case management is essential. Experience, or a willingness to learn and think functionally, and to support teams to use Functional Behaviour Analysis, is essential to this role. Applicants will have a personal and professional interest in using and collaboratively developing best practice systems and processes to underpin their work in supporting students. This position is based at Cairns School of Distance Education's Open Learning Campus and will require travel across the region in order to facilitate program outcomes. Links with Cairns School of Distance Education will require teachers to demonstrate proficient use of technology or the ability and willingness to acquire these skills for professional learning and curriculum delivery.
