NEK's Tutoring, Hawthorne focuses on teaching the fundamentals and extension of literacy and numeracy. We cater for all ages, from school aged children through to adults.
Opportunities are available for casual tutoring positions in SENIOR English and Maths. (ie. Capable of teaching to year 12, Australian Curriculum standards).
Our tutoring session times are Monday to Friday (state school term dates):
3.30 - 4.30 pm
4.40 - 5.40 pm
5.45 - 6.45 pm (Monday to Wednesday only)
We only require a small number of sessions filled initially, and as student numbers continue to grow we would hope to offer more hours. If you can tutor any of these times we are interested in hearing from you, as we may have to fill these time slots separately given one person may not be available for all times. These times will also fluctuate as students come and go - so our requirements will also change from term to term.
These positions would ideally suit university students looking to secure casual work hours. The hours are minimal, but your commitment to the position would need to be taken seriously.
Although specifically looking for upper secondary English and Maths tutors, we would be interested in knowing if you can tutor other support areas such as Physics, Chemistry, Humanities, etc… We receive varied tutoring requests periodically.

Required:
To join the team as a tutoring assistant you will:
· require an ABN, as this is a contract role.
· (preferably be) studying to become a teacher, or have notable skills in maths or English, or a discipline area that supports these skills.
· be a Blue Card holder (or are able to attain one)
· be able to travel to Hawthorne
· enjoy the challenge of working with children of all ages and aptitudes.
· want to undertake some casual work, mid afternoon to early evening. (work times are short / limited - so if you are local it would be easier for travel - for you).
