Not your average university – who are we?

RMIT Online, a subsidiary of RMIT University is an exciting ‘startup’ team dedicated to building a “Community of lifelong learners, successfully navigating the world of work”. We’re small, nimble, fast-paced and working on really exciting futuristic things.

We were created to leverage disruptive innovation in the higher education sector in key local and international markets. With student experience at the forefront of our design, we strive to build world-class online learning experiences with our leading industry partners. And we have a bit of fun along the way.

Sounds great! Tell me about the role

Due to some fantastic internal growth, we are looking for two Course Manager's to join a fun, energetic and fast-moving team.

You will play a key role in coordinating all the bits and pieces of an education ecosystem for a delivery of a seamless and highly satisfying student experience!

Think of this role as the conductor of an orchestra, bringing together delivery elements - such as teachers, student support, course design - at the right time. This role is critical to the success of both the teacher’s and student’s experience, to ensure the course experience runs smoothly.

You’ll support students and teachers during the course delivery, acting as the RMIT ‘face’ of the course, a triage point to ensure a great student and teacher experience. More specifically:

  • Ensure course set up and readiness before opening courses for orientation and go-live,
  • Triage student and mentor issues, fostering a virtual team across marketing, student support, teaching and learning, course design, and technology to resolve issues
  • Track student behaviour around key activities, such as webinars, booking assessments and completing assessments, developing insights and making recommendations where necessary about changes into all elements of the course/course delivery
  • Monitor student and mentors during course delivery activities to engage with students and mentors at risk
  • Ensure completion of student and teacher feedback surveys, consolidating the insights and findings, and feeding back to the virtual course team for future improvements

Let’s talk about you

The type of person who would flourish in this role is someone who likes to achieve through others, can diagnose problems and know who to bring to the table to address them.

We’re looking for someone with community management experience, with strong mentoring and facilitation abilities, and a capacity to provide responsive, customer centred experiences.

With a strong administration focused background, you're highly organised, articulate and can calmly juggle multiple priorities at once. Maybe you're looking for an industry change, something high energy and exciting?

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will help you drive and support learning engagement and interaction.  Ability to engage and navigate communication and learning technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems, Slack, etc.) will be a strong advantage.

You must have an interest in education and a passion for cool tech!

Ticking your boxes?

Send us your CV now along with a brief cover letter telling us about the most recent LMS you've used and what you believe the future for online education is.
