- Health Focus VET Trainer
- Make a real difference in the lives of remote indigenous students.
A contract for the remaining duration of the 2018 school year offering an IMMEDIATE START and the possibility of extension.
This position is targeted at students in Katherine and Indigenous Catholic Community Schools.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of Nationally Accredited competency based, training and assessment of VET under the Health and Community Services Training Package.
This position may suit a qualified Health and PE teacher who could receive training to meet industry standards.
Essential Selection Criteria
Industry qualifications relevant to Health and Community Services field.
TAE40110/16 Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
Industry currency including VET knowledge, understanding and assessment.
Demonstrated experience in the delivery and assessment of accredited vocational education and training for secondary students.
NT Working with Children clearance. (Ochre Card)
Desirable Criteria
Experience delivering health outcomes, working or teaching in an aboriginal community would be an advantage.
Commitment to support the Catholic ethos.
Ability to work in a remote context and capacity to interact effectively in a cross cultural environment.
Excellent communication skills and capacity to work with school staff to ensure best outcomes for students.
First Aid training.
A standard of health necessary to perform duties consistent with the role.
