DIRECTOR OF MATHEMATICS

Westbourne Grammar School is seeking to appoint an exceptional and dynamic Director of Mathematics for Term 1, 2019 or earlier (Term 4, 2018, if possible).
  
Westbourne Grammar School is a progressive, high performing, independent, co-educational, non-denominational Christian school, with a strong history and tradition of academic excellence. The main campus at Truganina comprises ELC to Year 12 with an International Centre, the Amici - Westbourne Early Learning Centre and a dedicated facility for its unique Year 9 Program. There is an additional campus (Prep to Year 3) located in Williamstown. The Truganina Campus is only 20 minutes drive from the Melbourne CBD and accessible by trains and buses.

The Director of Mathematics will be an inspiring Mathematics teacher, a role model and mentor, and will lead and manage the Mathematics Department. This role includes a 0.5 FTE Mathematics teaching load at the Truganina Campus.

A distinguished classroom teacher and leader, the Director of Mathematics will serve as a role model for colleagues through professional practice, mature thought and leadership skill. The Director of Mathematics will lead and develop Mathematics faculty colleagues, with the capacity to inspire them to deliver premium quality pedagogy. Enabling high quality and consistent outcomes in student learning of Mathematics at all levels is key to being successful in this leadership role.  

Importantly, the Director of Mathematics will lead to ensure that the curriculum is differentiated to reflect the needs, interests and abilities of students in Mathematics, enabling consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
