The Marketing and Communications Unit (MCU) takes the lead in developing strategies and relationships to build the UTS brand in order to achieve its desired prominence in the market place. It is responsible for effectively promoting and enhancing the image and reputation of the university through the development and implementation of marketing plans, media and public relations activities, internal communication and corporate identity strategy. MCU has both internal and external clients and delivers services to support them and to promote the overall strategic development of the university.

Detailed Description

The unit has a vacancy for Marketing and Communications Manager (Future Students). This position is responsible for the development, management and implementation of the UTS marketing recruitment strategy for undergraduate and postgraduate students. This position manages a team which consists of three Marketing Officers and a Marketing Coordinator and from time to time will also supervise casual events staff. The Marketing and Communication Manager (Future Students) will liaise extensively with marketing and communication staff from other areas of the university.

The position will support the Deputy Director, Strategic Marketing and Student Recruitment to achieve the objectives of the UTS marketing strategy and, associated operational plans, and contribute to the successful planning, development and implementation of programs that develop, maintain and enhance the university's reputation.

Main skills/experience required:

• Demonstrated ability to develop a range of marketing and communication strategic and tactical plans
• Effectively manage budgets and write marketing reports
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with people at all levels within UTS and externally
• Proven management skills, including the ability to lead a team to meet competing deadlines under pressure and maximise results from marketing resources
• Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Developed written and oral communication skills combined with accuracy and attention to detail
• Advanced computing skills including Microsoft Office applications including formatting and mail merging, excel formulas and pivot tables and maintaining databases (access and filemaker pro), CRM and associated software (Salesforce highly desirable). ?

Base Salary: $114,731 to $120,194 pa (HEW Level 9)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This appointment will be on a continuing, full time basis.

2. Experience in leading the development and  implementation of marketing campaigns and promotional events aimed at increasing  reputation and profile of your organisation
3. Good knowledge of marketing and communications principals, including strategy, market research, planning, implementation, measurement and evaluation.
