More than 4,400 students are currently undertaking a higher degree by research at UQ under the support and guidance of the UQ Graduate School. The Graduate School has academic responsibility for managing admissions, providing research scholarships, supporting students during their candidature, and facilitating the examination of theses. The Graduate School coordinates year-round skills training, supports infrastructure and research facilities, and provides opportunities to accelerate career development for HDR candidates.

The role

The HDR Liaison Team Leader supervises, provides guidance and training of the HDR Liaison Officers (HLOs) who deliver high quality support and service to HDR students and Post Graduate Coordinators (PGCs) across UQ. Ensuring consistent and exceptional service delivery is critical in this role; including across the HDR candidature application and enrolment processes, coordination of opportunities for the development and engagement of candidates and the resolution of issues and concerns. The HDR Liaison team, including the Team leaders, also assist the PGCs to proactively monitor candidate progress and undertake various other activities; including the coordination of milestone activities, scholarship nominations and special strategic initiatives.

The person

Applicants should possess a degree qualification and have substantial relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training; as well as demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring a service team and excellent organisational and time management skills. Accomplished in exercising initiative and judgement, applicants will also have high level technological literacy and readily embrace new systems and technology. Higher Education sector experience and a familiarity with research training and development will be highly regarded.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,883 - $89,559 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,803 - $104,784 p.a.).
