About the business
Fantastic opportunity to work in a well established outside of school hours care service based in Maroubra. We are looking for an experienced and motivated team member for our busy 150-place OSHC service.
About the role
The successful applicant will have a proven track record in quality service provision, a commitment to the continuing improvement and development of the service.
This role is a 25-hour part-time position with potential additional hours during vacation care time.
Skills and experience
Selection criteria:
- 1-2 years experience working with children 5-12 years of age in OSHC environment
- Possess a have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Possess an enthusiastic and positive approach to working with children and staff
- Be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Show initiative and judgment in complex and demanding situations
- Be able to complete set tasks and comply with organization procedures and national regulations
- Be creative and flexible with the planning and implementation of activities to engage children in a safe manner
- Be computer literate
- Have a current working with children check
- Assist in the planning and implementation of junior and senior programs
- Participate in and contribute to the day-to-day operations of the centre
Desirable Criteria:
- Have a Certificate IV in OOSH or equivalent, or have experience working in OOSH.
- Have an understanding and knowledge of ' My Time, Our Place' and the National Quality Framework
- Experience working with children with additional needs
- Worked with Smartfees software
Have a current first aid certificate – or willingness to obtain one. All applicants will be checked in accordance with the Working with Children Check guidelines.
