FTTA are seeking applications for the position of Trainer and Assessor for the qualification Certificate IV in Education Support. Applicants must hold this or higher qualifications as a minimum, have experience in the local school system as a teacher or teacher assistant and have exceptional English language skills to communicate with others from a variety of backgrounds. Familiarity with using technology such as MS Office is essential.

The position involves tasks such as marking assessments, answering student questions, conducting tutorials and visiting students in the workplace. A typical week will involve 2 days visiting students in the workplace in various locations (up to 1-2 hours drive may be required), 2 days in the office with students (tutorials, workshops or marking assessments) and 1 day per week from home. This will vary from week to week depending on need.

Essential Criteria:

• Must hold Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or be able to obtain this qualification in near future
• Have recent experience (generally 5 years' FTE) in a schools as a teacher assistant or teacher in the local area
• Hold at least one relevant qualification (VET or uni) in a related field at a diploma level or higher
• Must live within the Brisbane greater area on the date of submitting the application
• Must be able to travel regularly to visit students in the workplace in various locations (QLD)
• Have suitable personality to work with trainers, program coordinator, admin staff and students from various backgrounds. Be well presented at all times.
• Have suitable computer literacy to efficiently send emails, use word processing documents and other similar tasks.
• Have suitable English skills to easily converse on the phone with a range of students including ESL. Writing skills including suitable spelling, understanding and sentence structure is essential.

• General training and assessment activities
• Visiting students in the workplace

• Facilitating tutorials (1-6 students)
• Replying to student emails and phone calls
• Student interviews (applications)
• Administration tasks

Location -> this role is currently based in the Brisbane CBD however we will be opening a new office soon in an outer area (location TBA) in early 2018.
