Our Organisation

RMIT is a global university of technology, design and enterprise. Our mission is to help shape the world through research, innovation, teaching and engagement, and to create transformative experiences for our students, getting them ready for life and work.

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic Clusters (Allied Health, Applied Health, and Biomedical Sciences).

RMIT University is an Athena SWAN member and the College of Science, Engineering and Health is central to driving improvements in gender equality, diversity and inclusion, particularly in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) disciplines.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative postdoctoral scientist to join the Lung Repair and Regeneration Group at RMIT University, led by Dr Jonathan McQualter. The group is focused on understanding how the lung repairs itself after injury and why these processes go awry in chronic lung diseases like idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

Your Responsibilities

You will apply your expertise in stem cell biology, tissue repair, fibrosis and/or lung injury, to understand the mechanisms of stem cell behaviour in the injured or diseased lung.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have demonstrated research experience and an emerging track record in tissue repair following injury or chronic lung disease, ideally with a focus on fibrosis; or in stem cell biology, tissue repair and regeneration or developmental biology which can be applied to lung disease. Your ability to work independently and mentor junior research staff and/or students will be essential to your success in this role.

To Apply

For further information please contact Jonathan McQualter on +61 3 9925 7275 or to view a position description visit yourcareer.rmit.edu.au and search using job reference number 566389.
