This role is a position within UON Global, a unit located in the International and Advancement Division.

UON Global works collaboratively with the Faculties and Divisions across the University as well as trusted partners in Australia and overseas to position UON as a lead study destination for students from across the globe. It facilitates and manages sustainable institutional collaborations and partnerships, which enhance UON’s international engagement across the spectrum.

About the role

Provide high level administrative and executive support to the Directorate to enable the effective functioning of the Office of the Director, International and Partnerships, and UON Global as a unit, in its endeavours to deliver against the University of Newcastle's Strategic plans.

This role is fixed term for 12 months, full time.

Essential Criteria

  • Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an advanced certificate and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to working in a client focused manner at all times and maintaining exceptional customer service as well as working with and communicating in a professional manner with people across various levels of an organisation and key external stakeholders.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, with significant experience in drafting correspondence, preparing reports and developing presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing priorities and stakeholder expectations, while maintaining attention to detail, in a busy, complex and rapidly changing professional environment.
  • Sound problem solving ability, including a demonstrated ability to manage and resolve issues in a prompt, efficient and professional manner.
  • Advanced computer skills and database skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ability to work flexibly, independently and as an effective team member whilst maintaining high levels of sensitivity and confidentiality at all times.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
