ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client is a privately owned Registered Training Organisation (RTO) who has experienced consistent growth and is established as a leading specialist provider of education and training to the Building and Construction sector. Their programs are delivered face to face in classroom environments.
ABOUT THE ROLE
They provide skills and career solutions to satisfy the unique requirements of the building and construction industry and have taken these to both the residential and commercial sectors. Their courses are for individuals who are trained after normal work hours.
This means this training is a secondary source of income. Most of our current Trainers have a primary income from 'other' work.
DUTIES
- All applicants will have construction experience in Domestic or Commercial Building. To be a successful trainer you will have to be able to share your personal experience in relation to the course content. You will be given the course content.
- Assessment is your responsibility, as too is keeping individuals on track.
- You’ll gain and understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the trainees and use their knowledge to help with course content and help each other.
- The VET sector is highly regulated, so policies and procedures have to be followed to operate in this environment and you'll understand the requirement to adhere to compliance with legislation.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Ideally you will have the following:
- Applicants will have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment this is the regulatory requirement to be a Trainer.
- In addition you will probably have the following qualifications: -
- Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building).
- Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
- We can help with you getting the qualifications through ‘Recognised Prior Learning’.
- You may already have experience in training or you may throughout your career as a builder have trained apprentices and managers; you enjoy transferring your knowledge.

The remuneration is $300 per class delivered plus payments for papers passed by trainees. We would expect a trainer to have their own ABN Number
