The Role

A unique opportunity is available at our community based pre-school at South Hurstville for a highly organised Certificate III qualified staff member who is interested in combining their role as an educator with an administration role. The position is for Monday’s and Friday’s 9am-1pm as an administrative assistant, and Wednesday’s, 8.30-3.30pm, as a Certificate III educator relieving staff for programming time.  

In addition to working directly with the children, your responsibilities will include general office duties, including word processing, data entry, record keeping and maintenance of filing systems, administration of pre-school fees, and supporting the Director in enrolment and administrative duties.

About Us:

We are a small, friendly, community based pre-school located in South Hurstville. Our pre-school has been part of the local community for over 40 years.  We are licensed for 26 children per day, aged 3-5 years old. 

Essential criteria:

  • a current Working with Children Check;
  • an ACECQA approved Certificate III in Children’s Services;
  • an ACECQA approved current first aid, emergency anaphylaxis and asthma certificate;
  • compatibility with the pre-school's philosophy;
  • experience working with children aged 3-5 years;
  • working knowledge of the requirements of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework;
  • current knowledge of child protection legislation;
  • demonstrated computer skills including word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint and publisher.
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • the ability to build partnerships with staff, children, families and the pre-school community.

Desirable:

  • experience in a similar child care administration role;
  • financial management training or skills including knowledge of child care administration software.
