Ascot Early Childhood is a beautiful, privately owned 3 room centre located in inner city Brisbane. We are a home-like centre and pride ourselves on the warm relationships we form with children, families and each other. We're always reflecting on our practice, learning new things and working towards better practice- with the view to excellence in service provision at all times.
We are looking for a lead eductator or an ECT for our Pre-kindy room and need a passionate, highly skilled, highly committed and confident person to join us and be a part of the amazing journey that is working at Ascot Early Childhood. We are willing to negotiate salary for the right person.
We are looking for someone with:
- A diploma in early childhood education or a degree in early childhood education
- Current positive notice blue card for working with children
- Current first aid and CPR [or willing to attain these]
- Willingness to go above and beyond what is expected
- Skill in programming and documentation and a thorough understanding of the planning cycle.
- A team player
- A keen learner
- Ability to confidently manage groups of children
- Knowledge of strategies for guiding children's behaviour
- Organisational skills
- Skills in being able to lead the room and the 2 assistant educators
- Confidence to establish strong relationships with families
- A strong understanding of the eylf
A knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach will be highly regarded, as would be someone keen to learn about it.

The AEC team is led by a very passionate and supportive Director who provides much professional development and mentoring for staff as well as 5 hours of non-contact time each week to enable you to do your job effectively. You will also earn monthly RDO's. The centre is closed for 2 weeks at Christmas time, so you will be free to holiday and spend time with loved ones during this time. The families are supportive and the children are happy and eager to learn. Our environment is home-like, calming and a nice place to be! There's a park just across the road where you may like to go during your lunch break. If you are the right person we are willing to look at an above award wage.
