About the role

Be one of 4 full time Educators working with children aged 6mths to 2yrs, up to 12 children per day. This is parental leave role with a 6 to 12months fixed term contract, with potential to become a permanent role at the centre.

You will have the opportunity to build knowledge and experience through responsibilities such as

  • Use the centre’s philosophy and approved learning frameworks to implement a curriculum that caters to the individual needs of the children whilst balancing a mix of adult-led, child-led and guided experiences.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with both their leadership team and management as a way of engaging in reflection and providing a challenging and safe environment.
  • Be part of a larger team of educators that come together in a reciprocal and respectful manner to support, learn and empower each other.
  • In conjunction with the rest of your team, using strategies to observe, plan and assess learning ensuring all children are supported in their journey.
  • Throughout your time within the centre there will be multiple opportunities for professional development.

What you would be doing

The main things that you would be doing include:

  • Assisting in developing and implementing the educational programs and achieving quality learning outcomes
  • Creating and maintaining an inclusive, fun, safe, healthy, productive and effective learning environment
  • Creating and maintaining excellent relationships with children, families, carers and other team members
  • Keep records of children’s progress, routines and interests
  • Ensuring compliance with routines, policies, processes and practices

Skills and experience

We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Desire to work with children and demonstrated capacity to enhance their experiences
  • Proven experience in a similar role preferred. New graduates welcome to apply
  • A relevant early childhood education qualification
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven willingness to learn and improve
  • Passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to high quality care
  • Current Working with Children check, First-Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training

About the company

We are a not-for-profit, community-run long day care and kindergarten, providing care and education to children aged from 6 months to 5 years. We are in the heart of Windsor, Melbourne.
