Curtin College is hosted on the Curtin University (CU) campus in Bentley, Perth, and provides Diploma courses for students progressing to a CU degree. Our courses cater for a wide range of students, with the majority being international students.
About the role
The Program Coordinator (Humanities) is responsible for providing academic leadership and oversight for the humanities programs. This includes all aspects of academic quality both in discipline-specific knowledge skills & attributes and the pedagogy, development and alignment of the program learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment design. It also includes teaching, provision of student academic advice and staff management. The humanities encompasses the Diploma of Arts & Creative Industries (Design, Mass Communications and Social Sciences) and the Diploma of Build Environment (Architecture, Interior Architecture, Construction Management and Urban & Regional Planning).
Essential Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications, preferably at a postgraduate level in a relevant discipline area
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the delivery of high quality teaching and curriculum development at the tertiary education level
- Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development of scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning
- Demonstrated ability to engage students in learning activities
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic and administrative staff and students
- Demonstrated evidence of leadership in teaching and/or curriculum design, development, delivery
- Demonstrated computer literacy relevant to the role, including competency with the MS Office suite
Desirable Skills and Experience
- CELTA, or equivalent, qualification
- Management and leadership experience
- Knowledge of undergraduate programs at tertiary level
- Experience working in a multicultural education environment
