The Australian Centre for Justice Innovation (ACJI) is one of three research and teaching centres in the Faculty of Law. ACJI was established in 2011 as a joint initiative between the Faculty of Law at Monash University and the Australasian Institute for Judicial Administration. ACJI strives to improve justice systems through research, education and community engagement programs, and conducts high quality research and evaluation to support effective policy and practice innovation.  

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a researcher to develop and enhance their knowledge and practice of qualitative research in the interdisciplinary arena of compensable injury, rehabilitation and law. The JME Process Review study aims to investigate users’ perspectives about the Joint Medical Examination process that was introduced by the Transport Accident Commission in 2014 and subsequently expanded in 2016.

We are seeking a Research Fellow with experience in qualitative research to join the JME Process Review study team, commencing late July – early August 2018. The Research Fellow will be based in the Faculty of Law and the Australian Centre for Justice Innovation at Monash University.

The Research Fellow’s responsibilities will include project administration and data management; organising and conducting interviews; arranging and recording of focus groups; entering data into Nvivo and analysis of qualitative data. Some travel to metropolitan and regional locations will be required.
