HEW 5, $64,964- $74,622 per annum plus superannuation. This is a full time ( 36.75 hours per week) fixed term contract until Dec 2018.

About the Role
The Procurement Officer will assist the Team Leader, Procurement Hub to support Procurement & Business Operations. The Procurement Hub is responsible for the purchase of all goods & services for the University, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Daily operational activities include raising Purchase Order Requisitions, matching invoices, collating Finance 1 reports, and identifying areas for improvement. Organising requests for quotation (RFQs), monitoring expenses on a monthly basis and liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders are all important elements of this role.
About the Person
You will have developed an understanding of procurement practices through your purchasing experience in in a large and diverse organisation, such as a University, and will enjoy the opportunity to substantially expand your skill set. This is a perfect opportunity for a highly motivated individual, with a keen interest in procurement, looking to become involved in the preparation of mini tenders and the setting up of approved and preferred supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:
- Where relevant, liaise effectively with Finance Services and suppliers to gather information, keep informed and contribute to the requirements of Procurement and Business Operations.
- Display initiative to ensure continuous improvement approach to tasks, making recommendations for improvement as appropriate for the procurement functions of the Procurement and Business Operations division.
- Draft and generate reports as required for procurement assessment and analysis.
