Kent is currently seeking a highly motivated Full-Time Student Engagement and Wellbeing Coordinator to be based in Sydney, with skills and experience in engagement, student retention, and event coordination and counselling.

Salary: Up to 70K per annum depending on experience
(Plus 9.5% Superannuation and 17.5% Leave Loading)
ROLE:
The Student Engagement & Wellbeing Coordinator reports to the Executive Manager of Student Engagement (EMSE) and works collaboratively with the Academic Unit as an accessible support staff member for students. This position plays a pivotal role in coaching, mentoring, guiding and counselling students studying in both Vocational and Higher Education courses. Through coordinating and facilitating engagement and wellbeing strategies and enacting intervention strategies, help students establish positive patterns of study behaviour. Identify, encourage and generate recognition for students who display leadership, community engagement endeavour and academic excellence. Coordinate opportunities for student involvement and interaction outside of the classroom.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Completion of a Diploma of Counselling (CHC51015) or equivalent.
Previous experience providing support to people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Highly Desirable:
Experience working with International Students.
Strong knowledge of the ESOS Act.
Experience working within the Vocational or Higher Education sectors.
Desirable:
Experience coordinating events/ activities and programs
Knowledge of IT and related student administration systems such as RTO Manager
IT Skills associated with Microsoft Office Suite
Excel Worksheets – report preparation
Attributes and Work Ethic:
Prepared, planned and structured.
Passionate, calm, friendly and approachable.
Diplomacy in communication and telephone skills.
Have a student-service mentality and a high level of customer service with the ability to demonstrate empathy, tolerance, patience and tact when speaking to students and staff.
High level of attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.

- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy, procedures and guidelines.
