The Ashley English Language Institute (AELI, CRICOS Code: 03680B) is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions & Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) to provide training and assessment services to international students.
AELI provides General English Courses. We are committed to provide an exceptional learning experience in a fun and welcoming environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
We are currently seeking an experienced, professional and motivated Director of Studies (ELICOS) with a minimum of 5-years’ experience in teaching and managing ELICOS programs.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a professional who can provide academic leadership of ELICOS programs and has a well-developed understanding of the ELICOS Standards 2018. The ideal candidate will have the experience in review and development of curriculum and experience with international students from a range of countries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership to the academic team across all English programs.
- Manage overall responsibility for the program delivery, timetabling, ensuring the compliance with ELICOS Standards 2018 and ESOS Act and the CRICOS National Code 2018
- Manage student orientation, induction, counselling and tests
- Undertake student course progress and attendance monitoring and reporting
- Ability to liaise and connect AELI with the industry to establish professional relationships with key stakeholders
- Maintain high standards for student support and excellent performance at AELI
- Deliver academic interactive, supportive and dynamic programs for students to meet students’ needs
- Manage the recruitment, induction and ongoing training of staff
- Some teaching responsibilities may include within this position.
To be successful in either role you must have:
- A degree of at least three years full-time or equivalent;
- A suitable postgraduate TESOL qualification;
- At least 3 years management and leadership experience in ELICOS;
- At least 5 years TESOL teaching experience with international students;
- Thorough understanding of ELICOS Standards 2018 and ESOS Act, the CRICOS National Code 2018 and NEAS standards
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- High-level organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong administrative and IT skills
- Cultural sensitivity
- Experience in reviewing and implementing curriculum;
- Ability to deliver and monitor program outcomes;
- Excellent communication skills and great people skills.
