Job no:504597 Area:Qld Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation Salary (FTE):Professional Level 05 ($64,597.80 - $72,348.94) Work type:Part Time - Fixed Term Location: St Lucia, Brisbane Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation The Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) is a unique research institute in Australia as it is a jointly funded initiative of UQ and Agri-Science Queensland and Biosecurity Queensland, part of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). QAAFI conducts research and development to benefit the food and fibre sector both nationally and internationally. The Institute's strengths are reflected in its three research centres – the Centre for Crop Science, the Centre for Animal Science, Centre for Horticultural Science and the Centre for Nutrition and Food Sciences. QAAFI brings together scientists from UQ and DAFF to conduct high-end science that delivers higher impact outcomes for industry and the community. QAAFI scientists are driven to make a difference to the agriculture and food industries and have over 150 collaborators worldwide. Details of the research interests of the Institute may be accessed on the Institute’s web site at http://www.qaafi.uq.edu.au The role The successful appointee will work with academic and administrative staff at all levels. There will be a need to liaise with senior University staff and staff in other Central Administration divisions, Faculties, schools, Institutes and external agencies. Your duties will include, but are not limited to the following: diary management, reception duties, meeting minutes, event planning, assisting staff & students with travel, procurement, accounts payable and reconciliation. The person Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree/an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of the two of relevant experience and/or education/training. Applicants must have demonstrated competence in the conduct of administrative work including the ability to review work practices and update procedures and processes, as well as knowledge of the preparation and monitoring of budgets and interpreting financial reports or the demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge. Applicants must also be committed to providing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in their work. Remuneration This role is part time (up to 20 hours per week), fixed term appointment until 31 December 2018 at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $64,597 - $72,348 pa (pro-rata) plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $70,733 - $79,221 p.a. (pro-rata).
