The Research and Innovation Division promotes and enhances the University’s strong and vibrant research culture by attracting, training and supporting researcher and industry partners to solve real-world problems.

Research and Innovation Services supports the University’s research performance and profile by efficient and effective research administration and the provision of high level administrative and infrastructure research support activities.

About the role

The Research Performance team provides strategic advice and support to the University’s research community, the Division’s senior executive, and the Division’s internal stakeholders, in relation to:

  • the capture and analysis of quality research data and metrics
  • the provision of research performance and business intelligence reports to inform the Division’s strategic programs
  • coordination of internal and external University reporting requirements
  • the implementation of strategic initiatives to support the growth of research, innovation, engagement and impact across the institution.

The Research Performance Officer is responsible for the management and support of the Division’s research data management systems, coordinating the collection and extraction of key corporate reporting data sets, and data governance.

Essential Criteria

  • A degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • High level of proficiency with relevant research management systems and an ability to maintain, adapt and improve these systems.
  • A high level of computer literacy, with demonstrated ability to extract and manipulate data, analyse and prepare datasets and prepare reports.
  • Experience in the coordination and timely delivery of major reporting initiatives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and bring together people from different areas to participate in School/Division or University wide initiatives. 
  • Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills, including presenting to groups and a proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective judgements and manage priorities to meet competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.

HEW 7 from $84,302 per annum plus  17% superannuation with Unisuper.
