Casual position

St Michael’s Grammar School is one of the leading co-educational, independent schools in Australia, providing exceptional learning opportunities to students from Kindergarten to Year 12. We are looking for a committed Out of School Care Assistant to contribute to the provision of quality care and innovative, age appropriate programs for Years Prep-6. The Out of School Care Assistant will lead the planning and implementation of the Before School Care program and work towards an effective and collaborative OSC team, where individuals are encouraged to share and discuss ideas and approaches. You must be aligned with the School’s ethos, vision and values. You are curious, excited and invigorated by learning and are a continuous, autonomous learner who makes visible their own learning. You will possess a positive outlook, exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative relationships.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a Diploma in Children’s Services or a higher qualification
  • Display a genuine interest in and respect for all children
  • Be familiar with the National Quality Standards
  • Be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School’s program
  • Display a genuine interest in and respect for all children
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
  • Have high level communication skills
  • Work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team.
  • Have a current Working with Children check or be willing to obtain prior to commencement
  • Have a current Level II First Aid and CPR Certificate, Anaphylaxis Management Certificate and an Asthma Management certificate or willing to obtain prior to commencement
  • Have a current National Police Check or be willing to obtain prior to commencement

This is a casual position commencing immediately. Due to the casual nature of this position, please note that the hours required will be based on the operational requirements of the School. This may include working in Before School Care, Out of School Care or during the Holiday Program.
