Outside School Hours Care Educational Leader

• Part time position
• Supportive Management Team
• Inner City location at Kenmore

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced Education Leader to join our current team at the Kenmore South State School Outside School Hours Care. Our large service is experiencing an ongoing demand and we are currently expanding our organisation and seeking multiple leadership positions.  The service provides before and after school care, plus vacation care and is currently licensed for up to 180 children and this will be increased to meet demands in the near future.

The primary role of the Educational Leader is to plan and implement a quality educational program based on all areas of the National Quality Framework (NQS), and support Management in the effective and efficient operation of the OSHC.

Key Responsibilities

• provide leadership and lead the team, implement, assess and review a high quality and diverse educational program in conjunction with Management
• lead and promote an understanding of the NQF and the curriculum framework documents within the team
• Maintain and oversee  the Programs, planning, delivery and documentation;
• In implementing the Program, ensure compliance with the NQF, relevant legislative requirements and Centre Policies;
• Guide and support educators in the implementation of the Program;
• Actively support every child to participate in the Program.
• Assist the Management team and revise policies and procedures in line with the National Quality Improvement Plan.

Essential Requirement

• Diploma level preferable in Children’s Services or equivalent;
• Experience in a similar role;
• Have a sound understanding of the NQF;
• Strong knowledge of CCMS and QikKids or similar would be preferable;
• Have strong computer skills;
• Hold a First Aid, CPR, Asthma/Anaphylaxis and Blue Card;

• Prior experiences as an Education Leader

• Proven ability to work in a team and must love working with children of all ages
• Have a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework and relevant legislation
• Proven ability in strong administration and organisational skills
• Be able to show strong commitment to providing high quality service for the children, families and the team
• A willingness to go beyond the call of duty
• Initiative and energetic

The Educational Leader may also be required from time to time to fulfil responsibilities as a certified supervisor and be the responsible person in charge when needed.

The position is permanent part-time. Hours of work vary between 6am to 6pm. The successful applicant needs to be available for additional hours as required, e.g. during vacation care, staff meetings and training so flexibility is essential.
