Council’s Early Years Unit is seeking an experienced professional to:
- Act as an educational leader for teachers and educators across the service, leading the implementation of the educational program and ensuring clear goals for teaching and learning within the education team are developed through a collaborative vision with regard to curriculum and pedagogy.
- Respond to the various teaching and learning styles of educators and children.
- Be a positive and enthusiastic mentor and coach to all educators, supporting continuous learning and reflection.
- Ensure teachers are providing a program that is in accordance with the National Early Years Learning Framework, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, the current Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 and the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010.
- Be passionate about early years learning theories and curriculum and to share this expertise to inspire educators and teachers to strive for continuous improvements.
Mandatory requirements:
- Bachelor in Children’s Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved).
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of early childhood education and care services including, developing policies, implementing quality assurance systems and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to coach a diverse team of early childhood educators and ensure that they are accountable to agreed educational goals, practice and behaviours.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of National Quality Framework and quality improvement processes in a range of children’s services.
- Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership and contribute towards the development of a productive team culture in a diverse staff team.
- Ability to organise, plan and prioritise work to ensure the efficient delivery of outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A current Working with Children Check.
- A current driver’s licence.
