The Position

This business development role titled the Director of Partnerships and Marketing (DPM) is part of the senior leadership team and accountable for business development activities that include schools, universities and business partners. The leadership team is the first and ongoing ‘face’ of BROWNS making it essential for all service delivery to be of high standard, friendly and solution-oriented.

This position encompasses developing and diversifying business to business (B2B) activity to increase income, and ensure sustainable future growth of BROWNS. This position is required to strengthen existing relationships and develop new long-term relationships, identify opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market and competitors conditions. Working with internal stakeholders to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximise revenue. BROWNS prides itself on its close relationships with external stakeholders (schools, VET, higher education) to provide seamless pathways for international students to meet their study and career goals.

The position incumbent must possess strong communication, collaboration, negotiation and strategic skills, computer literacy and business intelligence.

You will also need to be persistent and flexible to enable you to intelligently negotiate with many stakeholders (schools, VET, higher education), with their own preferences and requirements, whilst seamlessly balancing competing priorities to deliver all on time. The ideal candidate will work to uphold the BROWNS company values of having integrity and passion, being supportive and creative while maintaining sustainability. 

Key accountability and tasks will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify stakeholder partners (schools, VET, higher education) and develop a strategy to reach them.
  • Support the organisation with regards to events and marketing campaigns.
  • Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new revenue.
  • Develop and enhance marketing materials as required.
  • Responsible for lead generation and appointment setting and actively and successfully manage the sales process.
  • Ensure all sales opportunities for BROWNS are captured and explored.
  • Work in close collaboration with the leadership team for complex large pitches and strategies.
  • Manage and maintain a pipeline using the CRM software (Salesforce).
  • Create and be accountable for all B2B proposals, contracts and any further documentation, in line with BROWNS policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate the suitability of business development opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of competitor and market intelligence.
  • Ensure BROWNS remains proactive and responsive to prospective stakeholders.
  • Increase brand awareness of BROWNS by planning and implementing creative marketing strategies, both offline and online.
  • Represent BROWNS at industry and trade events.
  • Lead the development of marketing materials that deliver professional, high-quality products reflecting BROWNS brand and image to the wider education community.
  • Analyse and review market growth, looking for trends and patterns. Utilising this information to make data-driven decisions.
  • Issue timely and complete reports as requested, particularly to highlight market growth areas and how this will impact on stakeholder engagement and relationships.
