The Information Technology discipline, which seats in the School of Engineering and IT, undertakes key research in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Computer Vision and Computer Graphics, Cyber Security and Networking, and Business Information Systems. The School’s teaching programs build on Murdoch’s vast experience in scientific training and research and provide our graduates with a lifelong career path.  The Information Technology discipline offers a wide range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for future and existing IT professionals, both in Perth and transnationally in Singapore and Dubai.

The Role

This position will make a significant contribution to the research and teaching efforts of the School through performing impactful, cutting-edge investigations and the development of new teaching programs, especially in Business Information Systems and closely related areas, such as cyber security, preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials, program coordination, and supervision of honours and postgraduate students.

A successful candidate will contribute to the research standing of the School and will teach a broad range of IT units including those at the edge between IT and Engineering, developing and applying innovative and contemporary teaching methods.

Skills and Experience

Applications are welcomed from candidates with a PhD in area of Business Information Systems, or closely related fields in IT, such Cyber Security, with high-quality and highly cited peer-reviewed publications.  Applicants at a Senior Lecturer level will possess an excellent track record of teaching in Business Information Systems and closely related areas, with outstanding student feedback.

Applicants should be able to develop and teach new programs and units including in IT. Applicants interested in the Senior Lecturer are expected to have developed significant national and international recognition for their research, have attracted external research grants, have PhD completions, and possess ability to build rapidly their own research groups at Murdoch University.
