Information Technology Services delivers cutting-edge, innovative and cost-effective digital solutions and services to the University’s staff and students to enable the delivery of excellence in education and research & innovation; and to support engagement with communities and partners.  IT Services is repositioning to become a technology integrator, broker, trusted advisor and innovator, enabling the University to deliver the New Futures Strategic Plan.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, The Service Designer is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a continuous business and quality process improvement program. The position gathers and documents business needs and processes by utilising advanced business analysis techniques to design business processes.

Skills and experience required for this role: 

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

  • Degree in business or relevant discipline with at least four years subsequent experience in IT business process design or a similar discipline; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools and knowledge of all aspects of designing, rationalising, optimising and improving business services and processes. 

  • Demonstrated experience with process redesign methods (such as business process re-engineering, Six Sigma, LEAN, or total quality management) and BPM tools.  

  • Proven ability to support strategic change and ability to effectively influence a range of stakeholders. 

  • Ability to prepare reports, presentations and other material for diverse audiences. 

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.  

  • Ability to work collaboratively and bring together people from different areas to participate in School/Division or University wide initiatives.   

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety principles and obligations and experience in leading and cultivating practices and behaviours that promote, support and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace, including responding appropriately to adverse incidents, behaviours, issues, reports and the like.

HEW 7 from $84,302 to $94,839 per annum plus  17% superannuation with Unisuper.
