The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who values making a difference in children’s lives, thrives on partnering with families, is keen to further develop their skills and wants to join a passionate, capable and dedicated team, working Thursday and Friday 8 hours per day until December 2018.

The Centre

Located close to Barrangaroo, KU Lance Children's Centre is a fun loving, thriving hub whose passionate team care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old with an emphasis on an inclusive environment where children feel like they belong and are encouraged to play, discover and learn.

KU Lance Children's Centre is known for providing quality service to children in the local community. The team is known for their focused, play based education approach. You will be joining a truly dedicated team with a highly experienced Director who will provide you with ongoing support in your career. Located on High St in Millers Point, the centre is a short walk from Wynyard Station.

KU Lance has been independently assessed by the NSW Department of Education under the National Quality Standards, and are proud to be rated as 'Excellent'.

The impact you'll have

  • To assist the Director in leading and work as a member of a co-operative team in order to provide an appropriate educational program for the children within her/his care.
  • To ensure that up to date records are maintained for each child under that persons care.
  • To ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

What we're looking for

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree level of qualification in Early Childhood or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Teacher Accreditation through NESA
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and how they apply in your state
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF) 
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Completed training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • A current Senior First Aid certificate including Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management training as approved by ACECQA
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
