The Role and Responsibilities

The Research Fellow is required to build research capacity in the investigation of viral pathogenesis and persistence within the Gorry laboratory. The successful candidate will be involved in current and new projects aligned with the strategic direction of the Gorry laboratory and the School’s research Program in Chronic Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases, and will also work collaboratively with Postdocs and Research Assistants on current projects that principally focus on HIV.

This is a research-intensive position; however, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in undergraduate teaching.

Skills & Experience Required

You will demonstrate experience in post-doctoral research in Biomedical Science and a competitive track record of research achievement, relative to opportunity and career level. The position will involve supervising research assistants and mentoring PhD and honours students, and requires experimentation with high concentrations of live, infectious HIV under PC3 laboratory conditions. PC3 training will be provided to the successful candidate.
