Children's Programs and Learning Officer

Part Time/Permanent - FTE 0.5

MOA Level 3 ($70,838 - $76,183 fulltime equivalent + super)

The state of the art Parks Library, due for completion in October 2018, is our next generation library service. We have a key role for a high energy, committed person, who is passionate about Libraries and the difference they make to communities.

Parks Library will serve a richly diverse community and we are seeking a motivated person for the role of Children's Programs and Learning Officer.

 

What does the position do:

  • Plan, develop and deliver events and programs for children (0-12 years) that support the development of literacy, social, technology and critical thinking skills.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that is welcoming, responsive and inclusive.
  • Engage with the community and form strategic partnerships with other service providers.
  • Will be required to work out of hours, evenings and weekends to support the operational requirements of the library.

 What we're looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Early Childhood Education, Teaching, Libraries, or significant experience in relevant fields.
  • Event management skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and engaging effectively with child learners and diverse communities.
  • Proven outreach and stakeholder management skills.
  • Current drivers licence is essential.
