About the role

  • $71,451-$83,653 plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading (Pro Rata of P/T Hour)
  •  Fixed Term
  • Part Time (14 hours per week over 3 days + up to 40 additional paid days of Domestic & International travel)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Level 5

  • Undertake research activities including data collection and analysis, in Australia and overseas including organising community consultations with refugee woman and girls, and participating in meetings with partners and policy makers
  • Undertake general administrative duties including attending project meetings, minute taking, correspondence, follow up on action items in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met
  • Maintain research files and records to the highest standards, and comply with all ethical, legal and professional requirements
  • Assist in writing progress reports, policy documents and papers relating to the research carried out
  • Undertake coordination of ethics processes
  • Work independently and foster a strong and effective team environment
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the research team, community partners, and other stakeholders, and contribute to the team environment
  • International & Domestic travel required
  • Cooperation with all health and safety policies of the University and take all reasonable care that their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others in the University

 

Level 6

In addition to the above:

  • Co-ordinate and take responsibility for DFAT research projects and collating research findings under the direction of the Project CI
  • Compile and draft research reports and contribute to academic journal articles
  • Using knowledge of international United Nations policy and advocacy processes, take on high level research activities as per requirements of the research project
  • Manage and conduct research and training activities including in the preparation of papers and conference presentations; publishing high standard publications for international and national peer-reviewed journals
  • Assist in writing of submissions to grant bodies, progress reports and papers relating to the research
  • Present research findings to a range of stakeholders including international collaborators and policy makers in Australia and overseas
  • International & Domestic travel required
