Our centres are impressive, purpose-built facilities with indoor and outdoor environments that have been designed and customised to capture the imagination of all children to play, learn, develop and grow.  

Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be an experienced chef who is passionate about preparing fresh and wholesome meals for children in our new purpose built and fully equipped kitchen.

You will:

  • Have completed relevant vocational qualifications in commercial cookery, valid employment working with children check, food handling safety certificate and have experience working in a childcare kitchen environment is an advantage but not necessary
  • Have experience and a passion for cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years
  • Be experienced in developing a rotating menu for children, including children with allergies and intolerances
  • Be reliable, positive and well organised person
  • Have good time management skills and be confident managing a kitchen
  • Provide a barista service to families (training will be provided)
  • Enjoy working with families, colleagues and children.

Day to day, you will:

  • Prepare nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for babies and children, including the preparation of purees and special diet meals
  • Create a menu plan in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements
  • Provide daily freshly baked treats for our parents upon drop off daily.

This is a permanent part time role, working Monday to Friday between 6.30am and 2.30pm.
