ABOUT THE KU PERMANENT RELIEF TEAM

The KU Permanent Relief Team is a dedicated group of like-minded Early Childhood Education professionals, uniquely sourced and driven to deliver best practice to the centre’s they attend.  The KU Permanent Relief team works across a number of centres to cover leave taken by permanent staff. 

Our Permanent Relief Team is a close-knit network of Early Childhood Educators who are passionate about teaching and caring for children.  The KU Permanent Relief Team provides a welcoming and supportive environment for suitably qualified applicants to continue to interact with and care for children. Our services in Victoria are consistently growing and as a result of this we are expanding our permanent relief team to support our services. 

At KU, we recognise our staff as being our most valuable resource. Our staff are highly qualified and well trained. We provide staff with ongoing in-service training and meet within regions on a regular basis to share our experiences and innovations.  We have a dedicated team of Area Managers and Education Support Managers who support our services, working with staff on their professional development, the curriculum provided for children and families, providing support for children with additional needs and generally supporting the operation and management of each service.

What we're looking for

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition you will have:

  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Recognised Certificate III in Children’s Services or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law(2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations(2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • knowledge of health, hygiene and the nutrition needs of children
  • the ability to communicate effectively with children, families and staff
  • a driver's license and access to a car, as this position will require you to travel to different centres

This position will cover regions across Melbourne, with the view to work across the following KU centres:

  • KU Alfred Children's Centre, Melbourne
  • KU Craigieburn Children's Centre
  • The Joey Club, Melbourne Airport
  • Heidelberg Preschool
  • Little Stars at Southern Cross Children's Centre
  • Little Stars at Southern Cross Children's Centre
