An exciting opportunity exists within State Schools Division, Disability and Inclusion Branch to be part of the Education Adjustment Program. We are seeking a Statewide Verifier, Education Adjustment Program (EAP) in the EAP category of Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Statewide Verifier will use their deep knowledge and experience in the education of students with autism spectrum disorder to determine eligibility for the EAP category of ASD against approved departmental criteria.
The Statewide Verifier in the EAP category of ASD will work as part of the EAP team and requires a strong capacity for collaboration, negotiation and communication. In addition the Statewide Verifier, EAP needs to be able to work under pressure with capacity to meet tight timelines.
As the Statewide Verifier in the EAP category of Autism Spectrum Disorder you will:
- process verification requests in the EAP category of autism spectrum disorder consistently applying the departmental criteria
- collaborate with school teams as required to obtain additional information to inform decision making
- record decisions on the department's information management system
- analyse EAP data at the state, region, school and student level
- deliver professional development associated with EAP processes
- develop professional resources related to EAP, the profile and validation processes
The ideal applicant will have the following key attributes:
- Thorough knowledge and experience of contemporary curriculum, assessment and pedagogical practices associated with the education of students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder
- Deep knowledge of the Education Adjustment Program components of verification, the profile and validation
- Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures and tools available for state school staff in demonstrating their planning and implementation of education adjustments for students with disability
- Capacity to enter and obtain data using departmental databases
- Capacity to negotiate with school leadership teams and a wide range of stakeholders
- High level written and oral communication skills
