The Centre

Tree House St Kilda

Caring for children aged from 0 to 5 years, this 149-place centre on Brighton Road in St Kilda has comfortable interiors, bright outdoor environments and plenty of materials to inspire your practice. Our diverse range of educators are passionate professionals and pride themselves on creating strong bonds with the children, families and local community.

Your Role

As an Assistant Manager, you’ll be working alongside our Centre Manager to mentor, lead and inspire our team to achieve success. You’ll play a pivotal role in building positive relationships within the centre and driving pedagogy best practice.

You’ll have a passion for leadership and demonstrate the ability to motivate and inspire practice in the child care sector, with an in-depth working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.  

Working closely with our Centre Manager you’ll assist in the implementation of our new Guardian Curriculum. You’ll bring with you a proven ability to build and nurture respectful and mutually-beneficial relationships with children and their families as well as our educators.

You will spend your week working on the floor 2 to 3 days and then the rest of the time in the office. You will be comfortable working across all age groups, experience managing rosters, relationships with parents and leading staff as well as general office duties.

Your Experience

  • Bachelor of Teaching/Education (Early Childhood) OR Diploma qualification in Children Services sound
  • a good working knowledge of and commitment to the National Quality Standard/National Quality Framework, regulatory compliance and the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Familiarity with the Childcare management software Qikkids
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with staff and parents.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement work programs, maintain relevant records
