About the business and the role

The Brook is a beautiful 219 place childcare service offering exceptional care over 2 levels.  The upper level includes 5 baby/toddler rooms with their own enclosed outdoor environment.  Downstairs the main building caters for children from 15mths to 3.5yrs and a separate kindergarten unit provides two approved kindy programs.  Large, beautiful outdoor spaces, 2 staffrooms, a programming room and outdoor deck for staff enjoyment!  The centre is committed to ongoing professional development and holds a fun annual conference for educators.

Job tasks and responsibilities

This role is crucial to the development of children, we have the super powers to make a difference to the lives of children.  Our role is to inspire, enrich and build confidence in little ones!  We are seeking lead educators with experience and a passion for making a difference to the lives of children and their families.  Key tasks include:

  • Leading and inspiring other educators
  • Ensuring families, children and other educators have a sense of belonging
  • Develop and implement learning programs based on your knowledge of each child, their interests and goals using the Early Years Learning Framework
  • Assess learning and effectively reflect
  • Nurture and provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children
  • Maintain a range of records as required under the National Quality Framework
  • Maintaining a high level of cleanliness
  • Working in a team environment

Positions also exist for Certificate III qualified educators for assistant educator roles and, as the service employs 3 Early Childhood Teachers, some ECT casual positions are also available.

Skills and experience

  • A minimum of 12mths previous experience working in an early education and care service under the National Quality Framework
  • Demonstrated ability to complete the planning cycle to support children to achieve outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outstanding phone manner and customer service
  • Positive 'can do' attitude and willing to have fun!
  • Professional presentation
  • Highly organised
  • Positive Notice Blue Card or ability to apply for one
  • Minimum Diploma qualification
