About Us

Columbia Park Early Learning Centre is a community based, not-for-profit, long day education and care centre with integrated 4-year-old kindergarten program. Located in Wheelers Hill; south east of Melbourne, we boast spacious playgrounds and are surrounded by open parkland. We provide professional and innovative education and care to 60 children on a daily basis in a well resourced centre.

We aspire to provide a stimulating and educational play based environment where the children are free to explore and experiment with a wide range of learning experiences. One of our main focuses is to form collaborative partnerships with children, families and our community.

The Positions

We are seeking educators who are motivated, enthusiastic and innovative with passion and commitment to early childhood education and quality outcomes for children, families and the Centre. Educations with strong leadership and communication skills which support collaborate engagement with others and proven abilities to work as a team member is crucial for these positions. 

Deep knowledge of the National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, Early Childhood Australia's Code of Ethics and the ability obtain the best outcomes for the children and their families is required.

The successful applicants will be remunerated with above award pay rates and conditions including professional development opportunities.

Full-time Diploma Qualified Educator is a 5 day per week position with monthly RDO, performance bonuses and tenure acknowledgements, additional and joint program planning opportunities with direct colleagues and Educational Leader.

Part-time Diploma Qualified Educator is a 3 day per week position Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays with performance bonuses and tenure acknowledgements, additional and joint program planning opportunities with direct colleagues and Educational Leader.

Casual Educator positions - all early childhood trained educators; Certificate III, Diploma and Degree qualifications accepted. These positions have no set shifts so provide perfect opportunities for people studying or persons who enjoy flexibility to nominate their availability for work.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

• Diploma OR equivalent qualifications as detailed by the position you are applying for.
• Knowledge of the NQS, EYLF, VEYLDF, OH&S and National Law and Regulations.
• Demonstrated experience and skills in early childhood education programs, communication, problem solving abilities, leadership and team work.
• Certificates and Checks: Working with Children Check, First Aid Certificate and CPR, Asthma Management Certificate, Anaphylaxis Management Certificate.
