Community Programs and Learning Officer

Part Time (0.5FTE) / Permanent

MOA Level 3  ($70,838 - $76,183 fulltime equivalent + super)

The state of the art Parks Library, due for completion in October 2018, is our next generation library service. We have a key role for a high energy, committed person, who is passionate about Libraries and the difference they make to communities.

Parks Library will serve a richly diverse community and we are seeking a motivated person for the role of Community Programs and Learning Officer.

 

What does the position do:

  • Plan, develop and deliver best practice events and programs for adults that support the development of literacy, technology and critical thinking skills.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that is welcoming, flexible and inclusive.
  • Liaise, engage and partner with internal and external teams, groups and providers.
  • Will be required to work out of hours, evenings and weekends to support the operational requirements of the library.

What we're looking for:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Education, Library Studies, or significant experience in a relevant field.
  • Event management skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experienced in developing creative, effective learning programs and activities.
  • Proven outreach and stakeholder management skills.
  • Current drivers licence is essential.
