About Us

The Education Delivery & Administration (EDA) team focuses on providing support for a number of vendor provided applications as well as development and support for applications that are internally developed and maintained. The team works closely with the business to evolve existing products and deliver new ones using agile methodologies.

The Education Delivery & Administration domain is undergoing an Agile and DevOps transformation programme and are passionate about changing the paradigm to deliver value to our customers faster. We are early on in our transformation journey and there is still much more to be done. About the role

An opportunity exists for a Senior Applications Administrator to step into a role where you will support applications that primarily underpin a broad range of University Education Delivery and Student Administration functions. Wider opportunities exist to collaborate on initiatives with other functions across the University.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading implementation of automation on new and existing applications
  • Investigating and providing resolution for complex incidents and problems
  • Contributing to the operational design and implementation of software systems
  • Developing changes and releases with minimal impact to customers and other eSolutions staff while ensuring appropriate IT Service Management and Software Development Lifecycle processes are followed
  • Mentoring less experienced members of the EDA team as well as inspiring a culture of high performance
  • Stay abreast of industry and technology trends to ensure our operations practices are remaining current

About you

  • You will have experience in supporting enterprise level applications with a strong technical background in Oracle platform
  • You will have experience in establishing and implementing the tools and processes to underpin an efficient SDLC and a strong technical background in using and configuring continuous integration and configuration management tools like Jenkins and CloudFormation
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment including appreciation for agile principles
  • You will have experience working in an ITIL compliant organisation and will be keen to implement continuous improvement to application support processes
  • You will enjoy working in a collaborative environment and cope with a changing environment
