Your new role

This position provides two core support functions in iLecture & Audiovisual (AV) across Curtin Campus including via phone, online, onsite and remotely.

  • iLecture - supports staff and students using the iLecture system and includes capturing, editing and captions of lecture, tutorial, reflective practice and collaborative class sessions for online students;
  • AV support - provide AV support remote and on-site including cameras in clinical and teaching installations across the campus, including monitoring and troubleshooting in the teaching space, Auto-Tracking camera installations to ensure the highest quality and reliability for recordings and Active Learning sessions.

Key responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Monitor and test iLecture recordings, live webcasts and active learning sessions to proactively identify troubleshoot and initiate remediation of problems in venues and online sessions.
  • Provide desktop capture application support covering installation on user's computer, webcam/microphone compatibility issues, usage, editing, and access issues.
  • Undertake general iLecture System Support, recording problems, scheduling issues, user access issues, hardware issues, compression and processing issues, end-user Web browser and plug-in issues etc.
  • Provide student-generated content support, creation and upload of bulk individual student iLecture accounts and units, supervisor accounts etc.
  • Undertake on-site Dual-Video Operation and video camera, audio setup and/or operation for dual-video recordings of special events and complex capture scenarios.
  • Provide limited remote, phone and onsite audiovisual support, maintenance in collaboration with the Venue Support and Audiovisual teams.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, using appropriate language, to reach a shared understanding about outcomes and requirements which meets the business need for each request and keep clients informed of progress.
  • Ensure consistent outcomes by following ITSM Service Management guidelines and documented internal procedures, and contribute to the documentation of new procedures as required.

You will bring to the role

  • A diploma with considerable relevant experience; or extensive hands on audio-visual or information technology or multimedia technologies experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of lecture capture systems and video/audio editing systems and software.
  • Demonstrated analytical, diagnostic and problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve and prevent user problems with a range of teaching and learning technologies.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively and professionally with all staff to provide a quality client focused service.

The salary ranges presented are those which are contained within the University's Enterprise Agreements; as are the employee benefits which include employer superannuation contribution at the rate of the current Government Superannuation Guarantee amount up to 17 percent, study assistance, a comprehensive salary packaging and wellness programs and flexible and family friendly work practices.
