Position Information
Pagewood Public School, enrolment 287 students, 35% of students come from a language background other than English including 6% of student population speaking Mandarin and 1% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. French and Mandarin are taught at Pagewood Public School. The school has a strong sporting, music and dance culture. The school has an active environmental program with a large vegetable garden and landscaped areas providing a bush walk within the large school grounds. The demography of the area is changing as the school grows and will require the leadership to be flexible. Pagewood Public School is committed to developing confident and independent life-long learners by providing students with a range of varied and effective teaching and learning programs in an inclusive, creative and supportive environment. The dedicated staff, comprising of teachers of varying degrees of expertise, is supported by constructive interaction and positive relationships with students, their families and the wider community.
Pagewood P&C is closely involved in a consultative manner and serves as a forum for discussion of possible initiatives and programs to be implemented into the school. The Out of School Hours Care at Pagewood Public School is operated by the Council of the City of Botany Bay.

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Conditions
If you have not held a substantive principal position in a NSW Public School at any time in the past five (5) years, you need to have completed the NSW Public School Leadership and Management Credential to be eligible to apply, and you will need to attach a copy of your provisional credential certificate or final credential certificate as part of your application.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for 2018 and 2019.
